did you select the book you brought to class?
It
is because I want a lot people to learn china culture. For me, I doesn’t lose
my language I identity and culture when I study English in the United State.
The difficulty of learning a second language is also caused by the language
rules, combining that all, learning a second language is the enculturation; we
might change boundary fits to adjust to cultures, and this is included in
language. So, I choose this book of culture shock from China. I want to learn
more culture background between China and the United States. And this book can
give many ideas to help other people from different cultural backgrounds how to
communicate better with Chinese people.

I go to the library I chose book of “Culture Shock! China (A Guide to Customs
and Etiquette” by Kevin Sinclair & Iris Wong Po-yee. This book interesting me because I want a lot
people to learn china culture. And I chose this book of culture shock from
China. I want to learn more culture background between China and the United
States. And this book can give many ideas to help other people from different
cultural backgrounds how to communicate better with Chinese people. This book provocative
information of today’s Chinese are healthier and wealthier than even before. They
are also more free. This is not the freedom of the west, which often comes with
irresponsibility, but the more basics freedom that most Chinese never knew
until this century. There is freedom from starvation, and largely, freedom from
oppression. This book born in 1990 Kevin Sinclair, revised
1996, 1999 and reprinted 1997, 1998, 1999, in Portland, Oregon and Graphic Arts
Center Publishing Company publisher the book and this book is published by
special arrangement with Times Editions Pte Ltd. The book was printed in
Singapore. In 1983, after many years of rejections the author Kevin was finally
given a visa to visit China. This is a
good begging when he first time come to China and write this book.
